Soooo,  some discussions about “these kids today” and “remember what life was like before Al Gore invented the internet ?” led to talk of the good old days of Commodore 64 dial-up BBS systems. I remember spending hours with my best bud Don dialing  BBS’s over and over. Ahh, the sound of 300 Baud handshakes and chattering disk drives.

If you enjoy third person shooters with a great storyline and interesting game-play, this may be worth checking out. The folks at gog.com have the original Advent Rising for download for the amazing price of $5.99.  For those of you not familiar with the game, the storyline is written by Orson Scott Card.  OSC is the amazing author of my favorite books, Ender’s Game. 

The game was originally released in 2005 and was planned to be a trilogy, but only two games were released (so far).
